The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. –Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
Good Morning Friend!
Is He All You Need?
You know as we go about our daily duties and as we go after our life goals it's important to remember who our source is. I was walking and talking with a friend the other day about the news and happenings in the economy and such and in the middle of the discussion I felt something rise in me as I declared out of my mouth "I don't care how many recessions our economy hits, I don't care how scarce jobs and money gets—I'm going to be just fine because my source is the Lord!" Friend, no matter what happens around us we must remember that we as believers in Christ have an assurance that the Dow and Wall Street don't even have. We have the promise from and of the Lord all throughout scripture that He will never leave us nor forsake us…that he will be with us (and provide and sustain us) until the end.
One of the great things about the promises of the Lord is that it doesn't just end with the writing on the pages. We can see in our everyday lives how the Lord protects, loves, carries, provides, heals, guides, gives us joy and I can go on and on. THINK ABOUT IT! God has been good to you! And you don't have to even think back too far! Sometimes our gratitude can get clouded, especially when we begin to dwell on what is not instead of what is. But I want to challenge you to take a break and think of the goodness of the Lord and thank Him for what he HAS ALREADY done and been to you!
Friend I want to encourage you this week that if you need joy and even some strength He will be that for you (Joshua 1:5, Psalm 35:9). If you need peace He's that (Philippians 4:7). If you need love, provision and just need God to increase you He'll be that too (Deuteronomy
So the next time you feel the urge to complain about what isn't just remind yourself "He's all I need!" When your money starts getting a little funny just look at your pocket book or wallet and remind yourself "He's all I need!" When times get hard instead of reaching for your old vices that gave you comfort before but leaves you feeling more lonely, down and depressed every time just remind yourself "HE'S ALL I NEED!" I love my family and friends but if they decide they want to act a little funny—that's cool cause He's all I need! It's only when we truly believe in our heart and have rest in our spirit that the Lord can actually go to work on our behalf. Stop looking for the solution and the answers to come out of you all the time. (You know my sleep got a lot better when I got this revelation within myself!) When it seems impossible is when we must remember the reality that God's got this under control. Remember that as you go about your week and remember He's all you need!
Much Love,
